    Description

    ADSS (All-Dielectric Self-Supporting) cables feature a loose tube stranded construction for optimal performance

    and durability. The optical fibers are securely housed in high modulus plastic tubes filled with a water-resistant

    compound, effectively protecting them from moisture. These tubes, along with fillers, are stranded around a

    central strength member made of non-metallic FRP (Fiber Reinforced Plastic), forming a compact and

    circular cable core.

    For enhanced protection, the core is filled with a compound and encased in a thin polyethylene (PE)

    inner sheath. A layer of stranded aramid yarn is then applied over the inner sheath for additional reinforcement.

    Finally, the cable is finished with an outer sheath, which can be either polyethylene (PE) for standard applications

    or anti-tracking (AT) for high electrical stress environments.

    This robust construction ensures that ADSS cables are highly durable, moisture-resistant, and capable of

    withstanding various environmental conditions. Ideal for both aerial and underground installations, these

    cables provide reliable

    performance across a wide range of applications.


    Application

    1. The design of ADSS cables takes into account the real-time conditions of overhead power lines, ensuring

    optimal performance and durability in such environments.

    2. PE outer sheaths are employed for power lines below 110kV, while AT outer sheaths are utilized for power

    lines operating at 110kV and above to provide enhanced protection.

    3. Specific design elements, including the quantity of aramid yarn and the stranding process, are tailored to

    meet varying span requirements effectively. This ensures that the cable operates reliably across different

    installation scenarios.
