    Description

    The ADSS (All-Dielectric Self-Supporting) cable is designed with a loose tube stranding structure to ensure

    optimal performance and durability. The fibers are securely housed in high modulus plastic tubes filled with

    a water-resistant compound, effectively protecting them from moisture. These tubes, along with fillers, are

    stranded around a central strength member made of non-metallic FRP (Fiber Reinforced Plastic), forming

    a compact and circular cable core.

    To further enhance protection, the core is filled with a filling compound and encased in a thin polyethylene

    (PE) inner sheath. For additional reinforcement, a stranded layer of aramid yarns is applied over this inner

    sheath. Finally, the cable is finished with an outer sheath, which can be either polyethylene (PE) for

    standard applications or anti-tracking (AT) for environments with high electrical stress.

    This robust construction ensures that the ADSS cable is highly durable, moisture-resistant, and capable of

    withstanding various environmental conditions. This makes it ideal for both aerial and underground installations,

    providing reliable performance in a range of applications.


    Application

    1. The ADSS cable design considers the real-time conditions of overhead power lines, ensuring optimal

    performance and durability in such environments.

    2. A PE outer sheath is used for power lines below 110kV, while an AT outer sheath is employed

    for power lines operating at 110kV and above to provide enhanced protection.

    3. The specific design, including the quantity of aramid yarn and the stranding process, is tailored to meet

    varying span requirements effectively, ensuring that the cable performs reliably across different installation

    scenarios.
